Bob Wright, who lives in Texas, has been writing poetry and encouraging other poets for some 40 years. He founded and for several years hosted the events of two poetry societies in upstate New York and one in Florida. At one point he chaired the Stone Ridge Poetry Society, in Stone Ridge, New York; was a poetry editor for that group's literary quarterly, Oxalis (a nationally recognized magazine that was profiled in Poet's Market); and played a key role in "Day of the Poet," its annual oral poetry event, which drew entrants from three states.. He was active for a number of years in the Alchemy Club, a poetry group formed some 90 years ago in Grahamsville, New York, that still flourishes today. He has been a featured reader and conducted poetry workshops at various colleges, bookstores, libraries, and cultural centers.
