I first got into coaching when I went to play for the Seattle Sounders in 1974 as part of their off-season program. My involvement in football/soccer spans 50 years as a player, coach and manager. I have coached youth, senior players, pros and women's soccer. During my six seasons with the Sounders, my biggest influences were John Best, Jimmy Gabriel, Bobby Howe and Harry Redknapp. I hope this book will offer something for every level of the game.
