Bizarre Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a gothic novella by Scottish creator Robert Louis Stevenson, first distributed in 1886. The work is otherwise called The Strange Case of Jekyll Hyde, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, or basically Jekyll and Hyde. It is about a London legitimate expert named Gabriel John Utterson who examines odd events between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the underhanded Edward Hyde. The novella's effect is to such an extent that it has become a piece of the language, with the expression "Jekyll and Hyde" entering the vernacular to allude to individuals with an eccentrically double nature: typically excellent, yet now and then incredibly evil.
