Jeff Riegel, a new York City resident and writer, who despite some modest success as a writer, a loving wife Michelle, two happy sons, the cities great museums, one of the world's best libraries where he works, a fabulous record collection and being able to recall hundreds of lyrics which he loved singing to his wife and kids is plagued with sadness and depression . A hit and run accident brings further misery to Jeff and makes it impossible for him to write. Despite Michell's objections Jeff seeks revenge without sucess . A second accident sinks Jeff into deeper sadness exacerbated by

the leniency imposed upon the driver who killed his love. He is more determined than ever to seek revenge . In taking his son do school every day he discovers his son has a great aptitude for math and teaches him the uniqueness and specialness of the number four.
