Pom Poko & Whisper Of The Heart | Vinyl Soundtracks

The Soundtrack and Image Album from two classic, but somewhat overlooked, Studio Ghibli films will now be available in limited Japanese import vinyl editions. Studio Ghibli has often been associated with animation legend Hayao Miyazaki, but these two gems are directed by two other major artists. 'Pom Poko' was directed by the iconic Isao Takahata with a soundtrack composed by Hasso Gakudan, while 'Whisper of the Heart' was directed by Yoshifumi Kondô with a score composed by Yuji Nomi. Although the two films have not received the same attention as Miyazaki's films, they still represent two essential Studio Ghibi film experiences that any fan of Japanese animation should see... and hear!

'Image albums' are special LPs put together to give an impression of the characters and the universe in the film. Not an actual soundtrack, but an important piece of music to get an insight into the atmosphere of the film in question.
