Sting | The Night Watch (Live at the Rijksmuseum)

Recorded inside Amsterdam’s famed Rijksmuseum, The Night Watch (Live at the Rijksmuseum) captures Sting in an unusually intimate performance set among some of the world’s most celebrated masterpieces. Surrounded by works from Dutch Golden Age painters such as Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer and Judith Leyster, the concert presents a reflective and atmospheric interpretation of songs spanning Sting’s solo career, selections from his musical The Last Ship, and enduring classics originally recorded with The Police.

The performance features Sting alongside longtime collaborator and guitarist Dominic Miller, with arrangements that emphasize nuance and space rather than spectacle. Using a rare 17th-century guitar crafted for Louis XIV, the performance draws a subtle connection between the museum’s historic surroundings and the timeless quality of the music itself.

Across the set, familiar songs are delivered with understated elegance, weaving together material from different eras of Sting’s catalogue—from the theatrical storytelling of The Last Ship to iconic hits like “Fields of Gold,” “Fragile,” and “Every Breath You Take.”
