EA turns its sporting brand to mixed martial arts in this realistic depiction of the world-renowned full contact sport.

THQs UFC series has shown the appeal of depicting harsh and brutal fighting championships in the video game realm. EA Sports MMA hopes to capture the same strategic and forceful combat of mixed martial arts, letting players take control of a vast array of real-world fighters as they enter the ring. World class fighters such as Fedor Emelianenko, Randy Couture, Shinya Aoki and Ronaldo Jacare Souza all make an appearance, each with the distinct fighting style and techniques of their real counterparts.

During MMAs career mode, players can train with the top coaches of the world before touring the gyms of Japan, Brazil and America and slowly climbing the ranks of the championship. Players can create their own unique fighter to take into the ring, uploading photos of themselves to help shape their creation. Players can also jump online and earn title belts as they play.

EA Sports MMA successfully depicts the strategic and violent sport of mixed martial arts, allowing players to fight with the well known faces of the championship and learn their own fighting styles.
