ROCK ROCK ROCK is the real life example of what filmmakers had in mind when they made retro 50s musical hits like GREASE and HAIRSPRAY. This 1956 film, considered to be the first official movie about rock and roll, features performances by greats as Chuck Berry, Johnny Burnette, Frankie Lymon and many other pioneers of rock, while also following a story line about a teenage girl, Dori (Tuesday Weld) in the market for a strapless prom dress after her father cuts off her credit card. Alan Freed, the famed DJ known as the "King of Rock N' Roll", stars as a himself, auditioning teens for his own TV show. The great female vocalist Connie Francis was dubbed in for Weld's singing parts.
