Founded in 1959, the Newport Folk Festival grew over the years to encompass blues, country, and pop music and become one of America's premier musical events. Documentarian Murray Lerner's film includes footage from the 1963-66 concerts and features performances by Joan Baez ("Farewell Angelina"), Johnny Cash ("I Walk the Line"), Judy Collins ("Turn, Turn, Turn"), Peter, Paul and Mary ("Blowin' in the Wind"), Pete Seeger ("Deep Blue Sea"), and many more, including Bob Dylan's controversial "electric" appearance in 1965. 97 min.
