The Royal Ballet perform Marius Petipa's choreography in this production of Adolphe Adam's ballet. When a peasant girl by the name of Giselle (Marianela Nuñez) discovers that her lover is actually a nobleman, Count Albrecht (Vadim Muntagirov), in disguise and is due to be married to another, Giselle dies from despair. But when the Count's life is threatened by the evil Wilis clan, Giselle's spirit returns to save him.
Barry Wordsworth conducts the Royal Opera House Orchestra in this performance.
