Rough Cut & Ready:dubbed Various Artists

Filmed between 1978 and 1981 by the then-teenaged duo of Dom Shaw and Hasan Shah, this is an hour-long documentary of the British punk scene at a time when it was fragmenting into different factions. It intersperses interviews with, and performances by, numerous punk and early new wave bands with shots of punk fans of various stripes, in the streets and in clubs. Also included are interviews with various British music critics, entrepreneurs, and media figures, including critics Charles Shaar Murray and Garry Bushell, Factory Records founder Tony Wilson, and BBC DJ John Peel.
