All seven episodes of the BBC drama starring Sam Waterston as theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who led the team on the Manhattan Project to develop and build the first atomic bombs during WWII. A brilliant scientist, Oppenheimer is nevertheless suspected of communist sympathies by the government.

Meanwhile, as he begins to realise the scale of the weapon he has helped to create, he becomes increasingly ambivalent, and even hostile, about its eventual use. The cast also includes Peter Banks, David Suchet and Colin Bennett.
