Ignacio Pineiro
NTSC & PAL/Region 0. Although not as well-known as he should be, Ignacio Pineiro is one of the founding fathers of Cuban music back in the late '20s and early '30s. He was one of the first bandleaders to add the trumpet to the traditional instrumentation and was the first to mention 'salsa' in a song (1933). This DVD features rare live footage of Pineiro and Septeto Nacional performing many of their best known tracks as well as interviews with musicologists about his life and music. Malanga. 2006.
