Lydia Lunch
Lydia Lunch earned her surname when, at age 16, she moved from Rochester, New York to a Manhattan art commune and began stealing lunches to feed her starving artist friends. Several years later, the boho Robin Hood emerged as a musical collaborator and performance artist with one of the most ferociously singular approaches to poetry and art ever to grace the underground. Myriad other artists--including even some of the most cutting-edge names in underground rock--owe a debt of gratitude to Lydia Lunch. This retrospective takes a look back at her career between 1978 and 2006.
