Import only double-disc collection. Jimmy Webb is that rarity in rock music, a professional songwriter who achieved stardom in that capacity. Archive is an excellent 20-track overview of Webb's criminally overlooked career as a performer from 1970 to 1977, his most productive period, for Warner/Reprise. While he is best remembered as the composer of hits for others ('Galveston', 'Wichita Lineman' , 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix'), this collection offers proof that he was equally adept at interpreting his own songs, often times bringing more emotion to them. Disc 2 consists of Webb’s outstanding 1972 live performance at the Albert Hall, previously only available as part of the (deleted) US box set ‘The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. 37-track double disc. Warner.
