Train On The Island
Aldous Harding
On May 8, 2026, the acclaimed New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding will release her fifth studio album, Train On The Island, via 4AD. The record marks her first full-length project since 2022’s Warm Chris and follows a period of quiet anticipation for one of indie music’s most enigmatic and singular voices.
Train On The Island sees Harding reuniting with her long-time creative partner and producer John Parish (known for his work with PJ Harvey and Dry Cleaning). Harding and Parish were joined in the studio by an impressive ensemble of musicians, including pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llywelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford, and multi-instrumentalist Huw Evans (H. Hawkline) on bass and vocals. Together, they have crafted a record that balances Harding's signature poise and oddness with a new sense of melodic directness.
