'Steppin' Out' was recorded LIVE during the North American leg of her 'To The Limit' tour. Joan's superb bitter-sweet songs, blues mixed up with pop plus a bit of jazz and folk added proved she's definitely no one-hit wonder. Backed by an energetic band with Little Feat and Wet Willie members she performs great versions of "Mama Mercy" with a killer saxophone solo from Earl Ron Price, a superb extended "Cool Blue Stole My Heart", her hit-single "Love And Affection" and "Steppin' Out". With "You Rope You Tie Me" Joan proves that she can really rock and "Tall In The Saddle" is a powerful closer, with a searing, unexpected guitar solo.
