Founded in 1977 by Lionel Hampton, the Who's Who in Jazz label existed as a means to present to the world the best musicians that the jazz world had to offer. Lionel Hampton Presents: Cozy Cole & Marty Napoleon is a studio album recorded October 5th, 1977 in New York City and sees Cole & Napoleon invite Arvell Shaw (bass), Joe Muranyi (clarinet), Russell Moore (trombone), Johnny Letman (trumpet) and Lionel Hampton (vibraphone) to showcase an array of classic compositions including 'Mack the Knife', 'Cabaret' and 'Someday You'll Be Sorry'.
