This definitive box set captures a pivotal moment in the Minneapolis punk trio’s evolution: January 30, 1985 at First Avenue, along with 20 additional live tracks drawn from their relentless touring that same year.

Curated and restored by Beau Sorenson, the concert tapes have been meticulously cleaned and remastered, preserving a night when Hüsker Dü blazed across stages with ferocious energy. The performance itself is a snapshot of a band in total creative overdrive. Just weeks after releasing New Day Rising, Hüsker Dü tore into a setlist blend of earlier classics, newer material, and daring covers — including renditions of The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High,” The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” (featuring special guest Dave Pirner), and a pop-punk inflection of “Ticket to Ride,” before rounding out with “Love Is All Around.”

The 4-LP version is housed in a deluxe package complete with a 36-page booklet chronicling twelve transformative months in the band’s history.
