Raul Torres
A talented and accomplished guitarist and vocalist who worked as a cane cutter in the Florida Everglades in the late 1960s, Raul Torres was a master of "jibaros," the traditional rural music of his homeland - the music of the working class tenant farmers and fieldworkers, representing the cultural ideology and the pioneering spirit of the Puerto Rican people. Torres recorded at Manuel J. Mato's M&M Studios in Hialeah, Florida, releasing two fine albums in the mid-1970s. Presented here is the ultra-rare single,"Yo Soy El Kikiriki" b/w "Vete," culled from his 1974 debut "Soy El Kikiriki." This obscure single has been loving remastered for your listening pleasure. .
