It should be called the sonata for arpeggione, but posterity wanted it otherwise and this instrument, which looked like a big guitar, tuned like it, disappeared after a decade of success. This work by Schubert, contemporary of the quartet Der Tod und das Mädchen, is here entrusted to the cello full of poetry by François Salque. In the company of Claire-Marie Le Guay, he travels the works that the Austrian composer has dedicated to travel. This theme has sparked many masterpieces, such as the Wanderer-Fantasie or the Winterreise. These are lieder transcriptions that nourish this captivating romantic journey.
