Donald Byrd & Bobby Jaspar
The studio session that Donald Byrd and Bobby Jaspar recorded for the French radio program "Jazz aux Champs-Elysées" was made during Byrd's stay in Europe for several months in 1958. During this time, the modern jazz trumpeter led a top-class quintet with which he performed at festivals in various countries; among others, at the Paris jazz club "Au Chat Qui Pêche" in the Rue de la Huchette. The club quickly became a regular venue for the musicians and brought them contacts with French radio, which invited them to sessions in November and December.
