Peter Wave
Scandinavian Girl is the new single by Norwegian rock artist Peter Wave, aka
Petter Wavold. Petter has had numerous top spots in the Norwegian charts.
He has released 11 albums, including seven studio albums, two live albums,
and two 'Best Of' albums. He has also released many singles, ranging from
hard rock to beautiful ballads. In addition, he now presents his own television
programme, Petter's Popshow.
Petter began his music career in the late '70s. He and his band became
household names with several appearances on the popular youth TV show,
Halv Sju. As a member of many rock and cover bands in the '80s, his artist
name Peter Wave was first used when his band Army released the single
Waiting Around in 1983.
His solo career reached new heights in the early '90s with the release of Æ
Længte Hjæm. This song became the anthem of his home city, Trondheim,
and is still as popular as ever. In 2015, the song was performed live at the
Norwegian Constitution Day Celebrations in London, and broadcast on
Norway's national television station, NRK TV.
Scandinavian Girl is taken from Petter's new album, which he has been
recording with legendary producer Stuart Epps, at his studios in Berkshire.
Stuart has previously worked with artists including Elton John, George
Harrison, Led Zeppelin, Oasis, Robbie Williams, Bill Wyman, Twisted
Sister and Chris Rea. The new single is released on 21st May, along with an
accompanying music video, and the album is due for release later this year.
