Ella Fitzgerald
Two intimate separate sets recorded live in Sweden.. The first part showcases the splendid trumpeter Roy Eldridge leading an All Star sextet featuring violinist Stuff Smith, drummer Jo Jones and the Oscar Peterson trio. The second part of the concert is the long Ella Fitzgerald set, in which she is accompanied solely by the rhythm section, but with her pianist, Don Abney, replacing Peterson. Among the many highlights are her powerful readings of 'Angel Eyes', 'Lullaby of Birdland' 'Love for Sale' and 'Can’t Give You Anything But Love'. Lonehill Jazz. 2006.
