Miles Davis' association with tenor saxophonist John Coltrane between 1955 and 1961 produced some of the most wonderful recordings in jazz history. This set compiles all of the quintet recordings made during two marathon studio sessions (also featuring Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums) on May 11 and October 26, 1956. Those amazing dates produced the music released on the classic albums Cookin', Workin', Relaxin', and Steamin', which ended the trumpeter's contract with Prestige Records.

As a bonus, this set also includes the complete contents of Miles Davis Quintet's previous Prestige LP "Miles"
