*'Plays & Sings The Blues'* did not appear until 1961 on the *Chess label,* the songs found within are actually much older. The earliest songs *'Mad Man Blues'* and *'Hey Boogie'* were recorded in 1950, while the remaining tracks come from two sessions recorded in Detroit in March 1951 and April 1952 for Chess. The second LP *'House Of The Blues'* collects material from 1951-1953. Songs such as *'Leave My Wife Alone',* the stark *'Sugar Mama', 'Ramblin' by Myself', 'Louise', 'High Priced Woman'* and many more are featured on this record.
