Since childhood, Jacob Dilßner aka Wankelmut has been injected with music. Whether he was listening to his dad’s CSNY tapes during long car rides or taking piano lessons as a child, music always played an important role in his life. Jacob grew up listening to bands like Die Ärzte and Rage Against The Machine while grinding off elbows at numerous gigs in his native Germany. However, at the turn of the century, it was almost impossible to live in Berlin and ignore techno. After discovering Drum’n’Bass, Jacob quickly became fascinated by electronic music. He soon started DJing private house parties that often got out of hand. With every party, more connections and friendships were made and soon Jacob was booked for club gigs and open air festivals in Berlin and Göttingen. It was these gigs where he experimented with what would become the trademark of his DJ sets; playing melodic and diversified music that tells a story.
