The Old Testament is critical for the Christian's faith.
Paul (2 Timothy 3:15) sees the Old Testament as a textbook on Christ. Peter and John used the Old Testament as their text when preaching the Gospel of Christ (Acts 2-3). John in his book of Revelation shows us the Christian's eternal hope of Heaven as a fulfillment of Old Testament themes (Revelation 21-22). Jesus used the Old Testament to explain his ministry to his disciples after his Resurrection (Luke 24:25-27). Paul "proved from the Scriptures" that Jesus is the Messiah (Acts 17:2-3). Everywhere we turn, we see Christ and the Apostles using it as a source of data to explain the Gospel of Christ.
Christ is working on the same House introduced to us by the Old Testament. What was first the Jewish hope has now become the hope of all of us - living with God in his House.
