The bad choices and selfish actions of those in active addition create many damaged relationships. The guilt, shame, and alienation from others often remains even after the addictive behaviors are in the past. These things can be a stumbling block and can trigger potential relapses. Often efforts to repair broken relationships fail because the former addict lacks what is needed to seek and find restoration of relationships. However, when a person has received the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of God through a relationship with Jesus Christ the tools needed for reconciliation are available. This volume identifies the need for granting and receiving forgiveness. It also discusses the importance of making restitution when possible and steps to take when it is not. The meaning and function of forgiveness is probed and its importance is emphasized.
