Eleven hundred members of the Church of Many Worlds walk into an underground room lined with high-power lasers... and vanish.

Some say they died-vaporized. Some say the whole thing was a hoax. But the church has the most interesting explanation of all. They claim their members were transported to another world within the multiverse.

The FBI calls in Special Agents Lauren Madison and Ellis Cole to investigate. But as they dig into the secret inner workings of the church, they soon discover this "vanishing" is only Phase I of the church's plan. According to Dr. Samuel Bedford, the church's leader, in less than 72 hours the church will activate a machine that will transport every person on the planet to this other world.
