The Mystic Will Charles Leland

Charles Leland needs little introduction for those intrigued by folklore, fairy lore, or 19th century anthropology. For all others, he is the author of "Aradia" and a major proponent of studying the arcane in his era. While some of his conclusions remain controversial, "Mystic Will" contains materials which are more accepted in the contemporary sense. Here, Leland refers to poetry and prose alike while espousing his view that various mindfulness techniques and associated phenomena like mesmerism are of significance in spiritual and physical health. The work is predominantly a how-to guide, with specific practices and examples and relatively less theory than many of Lelands' other writings.
