Crowe has lost yet another assistant, so he selects a small town New England girl from the audience, persuading her to join the act as his new assistant. Pepper Rumford has to scramble to learn the tricks and illusions while adjusting to life in Sin City. Cross and Crowe have secrets, and Crowe seems to walk a thin line with law.
