In an era of crescent cultural globalization, cultures originally from south of the U. S. border arefighting to stay alive inside the classrooms ofcompulsory educational institutions. Day after daystudents in these settings are suffering the effectsof a cultural ?McDonalization?. These effectspollute their skills as well as their vernacularvoices. Social sciences are created neglecting whatstudents and parents bring in the form of a primevalculture. Hence, history is explained in an archaiccontext, nation-state model, perhaps valid for thenineteenth century but entirely démodé for thecurrent social configuration. This critical(auto)-ethnographic research searches to answer thesequestions by hearing the vernacular voices that areempowered by the funds of knowledge within eachbarriohood and are prepared to give rise to a zone ofcultural comfort (ZCC). In such zone, Latin-Americancultures and the mainstream culture illuminate eachother. After more than ten years of learning andteaching in the United States, tha author has come torealize that California has the optimal scenariowithin public schools to create a model ofcommunicative actions.
