Morphephonemic Analysis of Names in Ga and Dangme Ruby Otoo

The study of names analyses the grammatical structure and morphophonemics of the vocabulary items representing them. Two syntactic categories identified in this book, that is, noun phrase and simple clause have been used to isolate the verb affixes that are contained in the verb constructions. The generative approach based on the insight from Chomsky's Generative Phonology has been used to relate the utterances to their constituent morphemes at the level of the underlying and phonological representations in this work. These representations are invariably linked to one or more phonological rules. Findings and information provided in this book will be of interest to students of higher learning and educators in general. Undergraduate students with interest in the area of Mophophonemics will find this book useful as a source of data for further research.
