This book is produced as per the Fishing Technology Syllabi used by most Fisheries Schools. Thus the information and discussions therein covered are limited to a certain point. In some chapters the emphasis is given to some topics more than others. This book is useful when teaching Fishing Technology. it can also be used as a quick reference when on-board the vessel. To make this book useful to students and readers as possible, high Mathematics has not been used and attention has been paid to simpler and more common problems. Examples are included to aid understanding and to illustrate implementation of the theoretical principles thereby discussed. At the end of each Chapters, there is a list of references with proposed readings. These are provided to make things easier for the reader in case that particular reader requires more in-depth information on the subject.
