River water is the most important source of fresh water supply for drinking and domestic purposes (97%) in Bangladesh. This study was conducted on Physico- chemical condition of river Sandhya situated in the southern part of Bangladesh and southwestern part of Pirojpur District. The main objectives of this study were to evaluate the physico-chemical condition of the river and its suitability for portable and domestic needs. To complete this research work, 12 sample were collected from four sampling spot located in the Swarupkhati area and analyzed to characterize the water. I analyzed twenty parameters of which four are major cations and three are major anion. They are Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, NO3-SO43-, PO43 and the study shows that value of all parameter are in acceptable range. The major parameters concentrations suggest that water quality of river Sandhya is overall satisfactory and might be used for drinking , bathing and other purposes.
