Knowledge is one of the today''s most important values. Often, it decides about success or failure. Global faith-based NPOs face the challenges of knowledge management in their daily work with their thousands of employees in their worldwide subsidiaries. Best Practices, Lessons Learned, Knowledge Mapping, Communities of Practice, Knowledge Databases and many other tools can help NPOs to improve their work''s efficiency. The special characteristics of global faith-based NPOs have opportunities as well as big challenges for the implementation of knowledge systems. This book identifies and analyzes these characteristics and gives advices for the implementation of knowledge management by using the YMCA as one current example for a global faith-based NPO that uses knowledge tools for the improvement of its worldwide services.
