Amino acids have a significant effect on plant growth and yield by affecting the resistance to environmental stresses, increasing the concentration of chlorophyll and thus affecting photosynthesis. In the carbohydrates-deficient plant, amino acids can act as a source of carbon and energy source, in such a way that certain amino acids releases ammonia, and organic acids, of which amino acids are originally composed.
