Teachers in India are increasingly facing a condescending attitude from both pupils and parents in rural, urban and tribal areas. That is why there is need of research to investigate stress in teaching - what are the determinants of occupational stress, why teachers are not satisfied with their job, why teachers are not committed to their occupation. This book deals about the research on occupational stress and job -satisfaction in relation to professional commitment and background factors in primary school teachers of tribal areas. For this study questionnaires on occupational stress, job-satisfaction, professional commitment and socio-economic status scales were used
