1970s British comedy starring Reg Varney as a holiday camp entertainer determined to break into the big time. Based on the 1968 ITV 'Playhouse' drama and scripted by Kevin B. Laffan, the creator of 'Emmerdale Farm', the feature follows Sherry Sheridan (Varney) as he attempts to entertain customers at an unglamorous caravan park with his drag act.

Despite his advancing years and absence of any identifiable talent, Sherry seems convinced that stardom awaits him. The question is, will his long-suffering wife Mary (Diana Coupland) and son Alan (Michael Hadley) wait for him to outgrow his delusions and pay them the attention they deserve?
