Iceage
'For Love of Grace & the Hereafter' is the sixth studio album from beloved Danish quintet Iceage. Across the sprawling 12-song arc of the album, a universe of love expands and contracts in an eternal tango, while Elias Rønnenfelt’s lyrics move with intimacy and the band masterfully navigates their shape-shifting landscape of anthemic post-punk.
'For Love of Grace & the Hereafter' signals a new chapter for one of the most influential bands of the past decade (all five of their albums have earned Pitchfork’s coveted “Best New Music”), evolving far beyond their original post-punk framework into something fluid, genre-agnostic, and generationally resonant. Throughout the album, there’s a sparkle to the band not heard before - it’s both playful and as serious as ever, growing and glowing through love.
Most recently as a solo artist, Elias Rønnenfelt has operated at the intersection of Copenhagen indie, pan-European art-pop, UK experimental music, and internet-native rap and R&B - from the folky, left-field Yung Lean / Fousheé collaboration “Little Gods” to the self-produced “Mona Lisa.” Rønnenfelt’s 2024 collaborative EP with Dean Blunt, lucre, quickly became a cult hit, surpassing 40 million streams and counting. Cameron Winter also named Rønnenfelt’s 2024 album Heavy Glory among his favorites of the year.
