Ringo Oiwake Mika Shinno with Ron Carter RSD 2026 Japan Import edition
Ringo Oiwake
Mika Shinno with Ron Carter
Mika Kanno has realised a collaboration with jazz legend Ron Carter, the bassist.
She has newly recorded Misora Hibari's “Ringo Oiwake” with a jazz arrangement. Furthermore, in another version, she welcomes shamisen player Shō Asano, creating a unique world where jazz and enka meet.
Furthermore, the popular folk song ‘Sano Sa’, famously sung by Chiemi Eri, is also recorded with a jazz approach.
Mika Kamino's singing, featuring her characteristic ‘kobushi’ vocal ornamentation, radiates a power that feels like it could pioneer an entirely new musical genre.
Additionally, this release includes a remix of ‘Ringo Oiwake’.
The remix was handled by Shinichi Osawa, who receives immense acclaim both domestically and internationally for his solo project MONDO GROSSO. Through his sophisticated production, the aforementioned ‘Ringo Oiwake’ is reborn in a new form.
This 12-inch single is not only ideal for club use but also serves as an excellent listening item, allowing one to enjoy its fusion of Japanese and Western jazz sounds in high-quality 45rpm format.
