Because of You [One-Step]
Kenny Rankin
Kenny Rankin's musical journey began in New York City: at the age of 21, he started playing guitar and six months later he was already in the studio with Bob Dylan, playing rhythm guitar on “Bringin' It All Back Home.” With the album “Because Of You,” released on Chesky Records on October 28, 1991, the multifaceted American singer, whose talent knew no bounds, created a lasting monument to himself. Rankin had an incredible voice, which legendary jazz saxophonist Stan Getz described as “a horn with a heartbeat.” He occupied a unique space where elements of folk, rock, pop, country and jazz came together – he was a musician who blurred genre boundaries and whose soulful sound defied categorization.
